Scott J. Sternberg has been a Florida lawyer since 1998. He is licensed to practice in the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, and is a member of the following bars and organizations:
Mr. Sternberg earned his Bachelor of Arts in Social Psychology and Criminal Justice from Florida Atlantic University in 1995. He received his Juris Doctorate magna cum laude from Stetson University College of Law in 1998, where he graduated second in his class, acted as local government digest editor for the Stetson Law Review, and earned Stetson's 1997 Editor of the Year Award. He has maintained close ties to his alma mater — Mr. Sternberg was appointed to Stetson University College of Law's Board of Overseers in 2008 and received the Paul M. May Meritorious Service Award from the Stetson Lawyer's Association in 2010.
After law school, Mr. Sternberg clerked for the Honorable Howard T. Snyder, United States Magistrate Judge, Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Division. He then practiced commercial litigation at Carlton, Fields, Emmanuel, Smith & Cutler, P.A. and workers' Compensation at Lewen, Reich & Interdonati (later known as Lewen, Reich & Mancini). In 2004, he was a founding attorney for Masnikoff & Sternberg, P.A., a law firm dedicated to workers' Compensation, Longshore Act claims, Social Security Disability and overtime claims. Mr. Sternberg then added immigration law to his practice when he established Scott J. Sternberg & Associates, P.A. in 2010.
In addition to his work with the firm, Mr. Sternberg frequently speaks on radio shows to answer listeners' questions regarding Social Security benefits and workers' Compensation.
Heather Pattok has been practicing law since she received her Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University in 2007. She earned Nova Southeastern University's American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Scholarship for outstanding academic performance in the area of family law, and was a student member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. She is certified by the Florida Supreme Court to handle cases referred by government agencies to the Children and Families Law Clinic.
Mrs. Pattok began her legal career with Kelley, Kronenberg, Gilmartin, Fichtel and Wander, P.A., where she represented insurers, third-party administrators and employers in the workers' Compensation arena. Her experience defending insurers has given her a unique knowledge of how to best negotiate and evaluate workers' Compensation claims for plaintiffs. She then went on to join Yaffa and Associates, where her practice focused on dissolution of marriage and other family law proceedings.
Mrs. Pattok joined Scott J. Sternberg and Associates, P.A. in 2011. She now protects the interests of injured workers in court and at the negotiation table. While her goal is to seek resolution outside of the courtroom if doing so is in her clients' best interests, she is ready and willing to litigate should going to court be the most likely way for her clients to receive appropriate Compensation and benefits.
Mrs. Pattok is the former vice president of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers and is a member in good standing with The Florida Bar. Prior to becoming an attorney, she earned her undergraduate degree from Hofstra University in 2004.
Angelic R. Shakir-Kirkconnell has been a lawyer since 2000, when she earned her Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center. She belonged to the law school's Moot Court Society and was associate technical editor of the ILSA Journal of International and Comparative Law. Ms. Kirkconnell is a member of The Florida Bar as well as its Young Lawyers Division and Workers' Compensation Section.
A diligent workers' Compensation attorney, Ms. Kirkconnell has aggressively represented various insurers, third-party administrators and employers in all phases of workers' Compensation litigation. She now represents injured workers exclusively. Her efforts have resulted in extensive client savings through shrewdly negotiated settlements, and she has prevailed at numerous complex trials and hearings.
Ms. Kirkconnell earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Nova Southeastern University in 1997. During her undergraduate studies, Ms. Kirkconnell was a member of the Dean's List.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Peter N. Andresky has been a lawyer in Florida for more than ten years. He is admitted to practice in Florida and before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. His practice almost exclusively focuses on workers’ Compensation cases throughout the state, with a particular focus on Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
Mr. Andresky graduated with honors from the University of Miami, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science while minoring in English and Economics. He then went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida in 1999.
